In your own space, create a list of at least three fannish things you'd love to receive, something you've wanted but were afraid to ask for - a fannish wish-list of sorts. Drop a link to your wish-list in this post. Maybe someone will grant a wish. Maybe you will grant a wish. If any wishes are granted, we'd love it if you link them to this post.

Day 3 was a challenge to comment to someone you haven't interacted with before. I did this and have been doing it ongoing as part of Yuletide and TW fandom in general.
Day 4 was a challenge to introduce yourself to someone you admire in fandom and friend/follow them on whatever platform you use. I'm sorta sitting this one out because I've already done it--just not this month. Everyone I currently admire is already on my TW flist, and/or I chat with them on AIM, and/or I'm involved in very long PM conversations with them.
Day 5 was a challenge to share something non-fannish that you are passionate about. As of yet, I haven't been able to come up with anything to share since, though I have interests, there's nothing I do that I'd apply the word passionate to. And my interests tend to be things I've dabbled in, but not within the last several years.
Day 6 was a challenge to rec at least three fanworks you thought you wouldn't like, but did. I ... don't really understand this one. I go into every fanwork thinking I might like it, except for the ones I don't bother with at all (usually because the author flat out announces that it's badly written and/or because it contains an egregious Mary Sue).

Date: 2012-01-08 02:16 pm (UTC)I'm with you on the pairings, pairings, pairings thing. I don't like the assumption that fandom has developed that all things must start with and be about pairings rather than characters.
Alas, I wouldn't recommend TW to you. Obviously I think it's a good show, but it's werewolves, and I don't recall that being up your alley.
Hope your holidays were well and that your New Year is off to a shining start.
ETA: And your icon ... I needs me a TW version of that.
