It looks like there's lots of upcoming fun.

FK Fic Fest

A new round of the [community profile] fkficfest / [livejournal.com profile] fkficfest exchange is gearing up.

I participated in this in 2013 and 2015, so I'll probably take this year off to focus on other summer exchanges.

HL Chronicles

In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the release of Highlander, [community profile] hl_chronicles / [livejournal.com profile] hl_chronicles is holding a prompt fest.

I will probably not be participating in this because it's movie centric and I'm a series fan, but the prompts may have a different say in the matter.

My Old Fandom

A brand new exchange! [community profile] myoldfandom is for canons that ended at least 10 years ago. A great number of my favs qualify, so this might be the way to get some action in fandoms that don't get selected in other exchanges. Nominations open March 9th.

Ship Swap

Sign-ups for the final round of [livejournal.com profile] shipswap are open until Feb. 9th. I've done this one for the past four years and received some excellent stories. However, it's become increasingly clear that I would be completely unmatchable this round. As I don't have sufficiently strong enough feelings about anything else in the tag set to modify my requests and offers, I've decided to withdraw. I'll keep my eye on the pinch-hits, though, in case something interesting appears.

Dear Shipswap writer:

Thank you so much for signing up and offering to write on one of my pairings! I'm very much looking forward to the story you write, and I'd like to make it as easy for you as I can.

I'm LadySilver on AO3 and argentum-ls just about everywhere else. If the hyphen doesn't work, try an underscore.

Most of what's below is copied from my Yuletide letter. I have several years of letters is a variety of exchanges posted. Should you be brave enough to go trolling through my old letters, know that any prompt I've ever posted is fair game, even if someone's already filled it. Should you have any idea for a story you think I'd like that you'd rather write, then do that instead. I would much rather you enjoyed writing the story than twist yourself in knots trying to fill a prompt that isn't working for you.

My entries into the first round of fests were decidedly multi-fandom.

By this time in the year, I've usually written and posted several stories. This year ... I have nothing to show for the last four months. You'd think that with all the time I now have at my disposal that I'd be able to do lots of writing. Unfortunately, the psychological toll of having left my job has said otherwise.

In trying to kick any kind of motivation back into being, I've continued to sign up for exchanges (and, so far, have met the deadlines, if just barely). First up: [livejournal.com profile] shipswap.

My gift this year was:

Our Highlight Reel's All Outtakes - 5.6K - Teen Wolf - Bobby/Melissa

I've been asking for Bobby/Melissa as my crack pairing for as long as there's been Teen Wolf. Finally, someone came through! The story is overall melancholy as it shows the progression of how Bobby and Melissa became a couple, with some beautiful character analysis of how they got to their places in life and what they're going to do next. There are also some excellent touches of humor in the responses from Scott and Isaac toward this development. I haven't laughed out loud so much while reading a story in a very long time. My only regret is that there aren't going to be tons of sequels because Melissa and Bobby really do play off each other well.

Dear Shipswap writer:

Thank you so much for signing up for this exchange and for agreeing to write me a story. I'm so excited about what you're going to do and I'm very much looking forward to see which rarepair you've chosen! For your convenience, I have some info about what I like and dislike. Use what you need to, but don't agonize about stretching the boundaries. If you have any questions, my tumblr has a really lonely ask box with anon turned on. You can also check in with htbthomas, who knows my tastes and knows how to keep a secret.

During the temporary lull in fests, it's time for a roundup. Over the past few months, I participated in three fests from which I received three stories and a bonus drabble, and for which I produced three stories.

April brought [profile] rarewomen. For this fest, [personal profile] brightknightie wrote me a delightful story based on Highlander: the Series and featuring a look at who Michelle, a one-off character, grew up to be in Yet There Are Many.

June saw the end to [profile] shipswap. From this fest, amathela gifted me with a cute Teen Wolf story featuring Scott/Danny and a little bit of drunken kissing in Positive Tension. Rumor has it that the author is considering writing a sequel, so if this pairing is up your alley, please go give her some encouragement.

Finally, July brought the reveals for [community profile] fkficfest. For this fest, [profile] gnosticdivia wrote me a chilling story featuring Nick and Natalie on the case of a vampire child in Bless the Child.

I also got an amazing drabble from [personal profile] amilyn.

My contributions for these fests were:

Hardest Road to Travel for [personal profile] crazyfoolstiney, which is a Laura and Derek pre-canon story based on a request for a Laura Hale story and a roadtrip.

Muscle Memory for musikurt, which is a Danny/Isaac story. No prompt was given. Ironically, this is my first fest gift that won't stop. I've already added 4K since the story went live and I continue to toy with more.

Never Saw This World Before for [personal profile] pj1228, which is a Nick and LaCroix story based on a request for Nick/LaCroix being forced to live together.

That makes three fests, three fandoms received in, and two fandoms written for.

Title: Muscle Memory
Pairing: Danny/Isaac
Rating: T/PG-13
Word Count: 7100
Summary: After Danny and Isaac are assigned to share a room at summer lacrosse camp, they learn a few things about themselves and each other.
Content Notes: Written for musikurt for [profile] shipswap. Canonically divergent from the end of season 2 and contains mild spoilers for early season 3. Contains a first kiss, reference to masturbation, strongly implied other sexual content, and werewolf kink.
