1. Which TV Shows did you start watching in 2015?

2015 was the year of TV shows. "Start" watching is somewhat of a misnomer, since there was a lot of marathoning of shows that are over and done and or shows that I had seen some of previously. The main ones I can think of include: Wolfblood, Psych, Continuum, and Supergirl.

2. Which TV shows did you mean to get into but didn't in 2015? Why?

I tried to follow fandom into Daredevil, but couldn't make it through the first episode. While I'm fine with a certain amount of violence in shows, I prefer fantasy violence, and Daredevil's brand of violence is far too real and goes beyond what I can stomach. And, I guess I started watching Jessica Jones, only I've been stalled on episode 4, with no real inclination to keep watching, though I couldn't say why. Some shows are just like that. Perhaps I'll get past that block some day and wonder what I was thinking in waiting so long. I also watched Powers and really, really enjoyed the first six episodes. Then I ended up renting the third disc several times in a row, yet somehow never quite got around to putting it in the player.

3. Which TV Shows do you intend on check out in 2016?

I'm really hoping that The Greatest American Hero reboot will manifest this year. Beyond that, I have no idea what's coming up.

4. Which TV show impressed you the least in 2015?

It's gotta be Doctor Who. I've never been a Who fan in the strictest sense of the word, though I've been fan affiliated for so long that the distinction has become rather moot (how many years in a row must one attend DW conventions before one becomes a fan-by-association?). Since Moffat took over the show, I've found that I aggressively do not care about what's happening in each episode. I try to watch; I try to care, because my family and many of my friends do; and, yet, I don't. Within minutes of an episode starting, I've gone off to do the dishes or fold the laundry or something. On those occasions where I've stayed in the room for an entire episode, I'll find that the closing credits are going by, and I couldn't swear that the episode had actually been on. It's like the show has some kind of anti-me filter for my brain.

5. Which TV show do you think you might let go of in 2016 unless things significantly improve?

The sum total of shows I'm watching "live" is: Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and Teen Wolf. I have no plans to let any of them go. Hmm, I guess Mako Mermaids also counts, though it's released in season long batches in the States, and the next season is the last one.

6. Which TV shows do you think you'll never let go of no matter how crappy they get?

See list in #5.

7. Your main fandom of the year.

According to my nattering here, I fell back down the Highlander well sometime in August, so I'll have to go with that.

8. Your favorite film you watched this year.

I don't know. As I sit here trying to remember what films I saw in 2015, I'm realizing that none made a strong enough impression on me to call it a favorite.

9. Your favorite book read this year

Gotta go with Rabid: A Cultural History of the World's Most Diabolical Virus by Bill Wasik. This book was utterly fascinating. I'm always amazed by how short our cultural memories are, as humans. Here's a disease that devastated and terrified people for thousands of years (at least), and within a generation of (effectively) eradicating it, we've largely forgotten that it even exists.

10. Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year.

Not sure. I must have one, only I can't think what it might be.

11. Your biggest squee moment of the year.

Let's go with learning that Wolfblood was picked up for a fourth series.

12. The most missed of your old fandoms

I miss mailing lists a lot. More, I miss mailing list culture, where fans could be the fans of their individual character or pairing (and could happily go off and play with that character or pairing), yet there was still a sense that we were all fans together, and that we should try to work together to make fandom a pleasant place for everyone. I feel like modern fans, especially those of the tumblr era, treat fandom as a competition or a ... territory dispute? A new fandom isn't about a place to go an play and interact with other fans; it's about claiming as much ground in the form of comments, kudos, reblogs, dominant fanon, etc. as fast as possible and running out all the competition so that everyone knows which ship won.

13. The fandom you haven't tried but want to

It doesn't work that way for me. If I'm going to dip into a new fandom, I'll know it when I get there.

14. Your biggest fan anticipations for the coming year

Wolfblood series four should be out this year. Mako Mermaids series three (or four, if one goes by Netflix's organization) should also be out this year. I'm excited about both of those.
