Yuletide: Nominations

Nominations are in the process of being approved right now.

I did manage to get mine all in on time, though I'm already having second thoughts about one of my choices because I've committed myself to re-reading a trilogy over the next month if I want to have any hope of being able to follow through on the fandom.

I've never nominated a book fandom before. Naturally, this meant that I decided to nominate two book fandoms. I really don't know what was going through my head, except way too much amusement at the possibility of seeing fanfic about myself. Yes, I am feeling a bit conceited right now. Why did you ask?

Ouch. I hate it when I forget to nominate something I wanted. I've heard a few people talking about Wolfblood, though, so I'm sure someone nominated it. Hopefully they got the characters you wanted too!

That would be fantastic if someone else nominated it!

There are no characters on that show that I wouldn't be interested in stories about, so if someone else did nominate it, I'll definitely be able to find characters to request.

What did you nominate this year?

I nominated Battle Creek, Intelligence, and The Collector. So two recent, widely-viewed, American network shows and one tiny, older Canadian show that hardly anyone's heard of. :)

(I also debated really hard about whether to nominate Being Human US or Saving Hope. If someone else nominated them, it's going to be another debate about whether I want to request them.)

BH is such a tough one. I'm never sure what to do with shows that end in such a way that it closes off the world (and/or kills off the characters) that the show had been taking place in. I suppose you'll make your decision based on what characters were nommed, if any?

Yeah, one advantage of falling for two widely-known shows is that my chance of a match is pretty good.

The ending of BH is exactly why I didn't nominate it and why I'm not sure I'll request it. Any request would basically have to be about Nora and Josh (or Kat!), or some sort of AU for Aidan or Sally. Or something historical, I suppose--Aidan's early experiences with magic and witchcraft, or something. Aidan was always my favourite, and AUs and historical fic aren't everyone's cup of tea, so...

OTOH, I was thinking of possible prompts and there were a few things unfinished, so...maybe. (I actually saw that someone nominated Josh, Nora, and Sally, but not Aidan [or Kat, of course], so if no one else nominated it, I probably won't request it.)

I'm reading through recommended letters and working on my own now. All of my nominations have been approved, so I know three of my requests.

I suppose I should start working on my letter since I know at least three of my fandoms.

The author of that book is a person I was in school with. She strongly based the character of Dottie on me, because apparently some of the weird crap I did in high school made an impression.
