Dear Trick or Treat writer,

Hi! Thank you for signing up for some tricks or treats. I'm so excited about the possibilities of this exchange and I want to encourage you to push the boundaries, in the spirit of the holiday. Below is all the info from my sign up. If you want more info or more specific prompts, feel free to browse my other exchange letters. If none of them inspire you, or you have an idea for something else you think I'd like, please go with what does inspire you instead. You can also hit up my ask box, which has anon turned on, or talk to htbtomas, who both knows my tastes and knows how to keep a secret.

I'm LadySilver on AO3 and argentum_ls just about everywhere else (if the underscore doesn't work, try a hyphen).

Most of what follows is geared toward fic because that's what I know. Art fills are more than welcome! I'm not fond of chibis. Beyond that, I welcome the opportunity to broaden my horizons.

LIKES: Plot, h/c, whump, secrets revealed/discovered, lying by telling the truth, angst, drama, family drama, real world situations (parental-dating, high school is hard, starting college/moving out) complicated by the supernatural, humor, casefic, trapped!, running out of time, unexpected allies, trope inversions, ratings of R or lower for sexual material, strong friendships, canon divergent AUs, canon based stories, crossovers, outsider POV, when two characters think they're talking about the same thing and aren't, clever or unusual uses of a character's abilities. (For higher-rated stories, I like: friends with benefits, frottage, oral sex, first times, kissing, touching/touch, body discovery, situations where our characters could get caught but don't, consensual sex pollen, consensual voyeurism.)

DO NOT WANTS: Character bashing or assassination, permanent main character death, Sterek, non-canon AUs, extreme jealousy, torture!porn, trans headcanons, zombies (For higher-rated stories, my dislikes are: non-con, anal anything, incest, fluid play, and pain play).

Arrow

Barry, Felicity, John, Laurel, Nyssa, Oliver, Sara, Thea

Take one spoiled rich kid with severe PTSD and good aim and let him have the run of his city and the laws. Add in a slow building of a family and trust network that leads to healing. A good dash of people at least attempting to make their world a better place. And there's a recipe for a story I am eagerly watching unfold. Oliver's travails aside, I'm especially interested in the women of this show and their journeys. Give me all the found family and people being remarkably inept at being people while being pretty good at being superheroes. I've also been enjoying the exploration and (occasional) deconstruction of the class issues that surround Oliver's activities, and his ability to get away with them.

Any canon character is welcome to help populate your work.

Tricks: Heists, capers, escapades about our heroes trying to do right and more-or-less managing to get it done. Bodyswap. One or more of the group has to infiltrate a martial arts tournament and compete. Sliding Doors scenarios. Ghosts. One or more of our group encounters actual corporal supernatural creatures.

Treats: I'd love to see more of Oliver and Thea rebuilding their sibling relationship post-season 3, or Laurel and Sara working on theirs anytime. Put any of our group in human-normal situations that they're barely capable of navigating because they're so normal: bowling, a barroom billiards (or darts?) tournament, game night, ski trip. Barry solving a crime through his CSI knowledge. Felicity and Nyssa become roommates. John continues to show his paternal side in unexpected ways.

Ships: Any combos of the requested characters except incest. Have at it.

I'm fine with any/all spoilers or speculation. I'm also an eager watcher of The Flash, even though I didn't request it in this exchange.

Dead Last

Vaughn, Jane, Scotty, Dennis

So, this tiny little show with its measly 13 episodes about a struggling garage band trying to break through on the music scene who abruptly find themselves with the power to see ghosts is an old favorite of mine. (Based on how quickly it was canceled, I was probably the only one watching it). While the episodes didn't always live up to the potential, that only leaves more room to play. I loved the found-family side of the band, how they put up with sleazy motel rooms, dive bar food, and broken down everything in pursuit of their craft together. I also liked how the band was constantly on the verge of tearing itself apart and yet still managed to hang together. Throw in the shear variety of ghosts the band encountered and the variety of problems those ghosts threw in the path of our struggling band, and this became so much more than a show about the horrors of the music industry.

For the sake of these prompts, I'm considering Dennis as one of the band.

Tricks: Evil ghosts. Poltergeists disrupt a set. One or more of the band gets caught up with a ghost who appears to be good and isn't. Conversely, one or more of the band gets caught up with a ghost who's only interested in using his/her "invisibility" to prank the people who "wronged" him/her in life. One or more of the band gets the temporary opportunity to be a ghost.

Treats: We saw Jane and Scotty's families. What about Vaughn's? Let's see backstory on the band. A ghostly encounter unexpectedly helps them during a performance. Evening in where the band gets something nice. An opportunity arises to pass the amulet on; will they take it?

Past!Jane/Vaughn are canon. I like that they were able to break up and yet continue to work together. I'd prefer that the balance not get upset, so in the event of ship fic, please either put our three younger band members with OCs or make them an OT3.

There is no extant fic for this show, so anything is welcome.

Highlander: the Series

Methos, Richie, Cory, Ceirdwyn, Kronos, Gregor, Amanda

Swordfights! Immortality! So very much history! This request is for the show only, not the movies, though Highlander: the Raven can be considered an extension, if you want.

I'm interested in all the characters I've chosen, of course. Beyond that, any canon character is welcome to help populate your work. Ships are pretty much fair game, but I'm not into Duncan/Methos. Also, please ignore Richie's death; it didn't happen.

Tricks: You know that canon AU in the final HL episodes where Methos was Richie's teacher? Yeah, let's go there. Let's see Richie learning to be the 5th Horseman. Bring on Methos the Teacher and show how differently Richie might have turned out because of it if Methos hadn't killed him so quickly, or show more of how Methos and Kronos would have wreaked devastation if left to their own devices. I'm interested in the fates of all the characters in the non-Duncan world. What would have happened to Ceirdwyn, Cory, and Gregor without Duncan there to talk them down (or blow them up, as the case was). Alternatively, I'd love to see Methos and Cory teaming up to teach Richie the differences between being a petty thief and a master criminal (or just Methos and Cory teaming up), with or without the crime going as planned. Other ideas: escaping from the morgue stories, capers that involve concealing one's Immortality from someone who doesn't or shouldn't know, or mistaken-identity-that-isn't.

Treats: Stories from Ye Olde Days (authenticity optional). Heists. Immortals using some aspect of their Immortality in fun or clever ways. Immortals being mistaken for some other kind of supernatural creature. I'm always interested in examinations of identity: when does an Immortal know it's time to make a new one? How hard/easy is it to let go of the past one(s)? What happens when loose ends from an old identity come into conflict with a new identity? How much of any given Immortal that we see is really who they are? I'd love to see some heartwarming or inspirational stories from our characters' lives, but dark or angsty can also be fun.

Mako Mermaids

Mimmi, Sirena, Cam, Zac, Evie, Ondina, David, Carly

Mermaids. Mermen. Fish-out-of-water. Magic powers. Secret identities. There's so much I like about this show. So, what I don't like is how much of the plot is contingent upon the characters refusing to have a conversation with each other. There's also a bit more face-heel turn than I'm comfortable with. Everything else, though! I want to see so much more of the everything else.

Tricks: Magic spells gone wrong; our characters pranking each other or people in school/town/the cafe with their powers; the dark side of mer-life; mermaids adjusting to being human in awkward (but not humiliating) ways.

Treats: Worldbuilding (the mythology of this show is pretty scattershot, so anything that'll fill in holes or tie loose ends together would be fantastic); romantic scenes between our canon couples; touching family scenes with Zac and his family or Evie and her father; Cam proving his worth to the group; Mimmi at the waterpark; Evie and the mermaids developing rapport; Evie and Carly hanging out.

Teen Wolf

Allison, Brett, Danny, Erica, Hayden, Kira, Liam, Lydia, Malia, Mason, Melissa, Scott, Sheriff, Stiles

I'm here for the teens and the parents. Scott is my favorite character of all, though Liam is starting to come in a close second. What I like is characters having to deal with all the upheaval that growing up comes with, with a heaping helping of the supernatural on top of it. Liam's anger problems that feed into his problems keeping control of the wolf hits me right there. I love all the girls. Allison is my favorite (feel free to ignore her death) with Melissa a very close second. I'm here for all the h/c and whump on any character with magical healing powers. Please don't hurt the human characters in any way that can't be fixed with a Band Aid and Aspirin. Family moments are also delightful. We never got to see Scott having to explain Liam to his mother. I don't have prompts for each individual character; rest assured that I'd love to see works for them, regardless, especially if it's an unusual team-up (Danny & Malia? Brett, Kira, and Stiles? Erica & Sheriff?).

Besides the selection above, most canon characters are welcome to help populate your work. I prefer Derek in extreme moderation, if at all, and I'm not really interested in the designated villains (Peter, Gerard, Deucalion). Anyone else can be put to work.

Tricks: Lacrosse team pranks, either in celebration of Halloween or not. Hazing. Haunted houses. Ghost!Allison. Wolfsbane poisoning. Full moons gone wrong (or have different effects like for blood moons or supermoons). Future fic with our characters trying to adjust to college and having to keep secrets from nosy roommates.

Treats: Friendship stories, especially between Scott & Stiles, Allison & Lydia, or Liam & Mason. Let's see the characters hanging out, enjoying their time together: video games, truth or dare, late night confessions, surprise snow day, etc. I adored “Heart Monitor,” so stories where Stiles or Mason help their werewolf friend learn more about their powers would be awesome. I'm also interested in the adult characters being adults and seeing the world they live in through their eyes.

Ships: Scott/Stiles, Scott/Kira, Scott/Lydia, Scott/Allison, Liam/Hayden, Brett/Mason

The Tomorrow People (2013)

John, Stephen, Luca, Astrid, Cara, Russell, Irene, Sophie

The Tomorrow People is my perma-fandom. I've been involved in every iteration and I love them all for different reasons. The very idea of youths with something more to offer the world, yet who have to hide what they are from the world for their own safety, speaks powerfully to me. I love that the characters are thrust into situations that they don't have the experience to deal with, yet have the responsibility to take on because their powers make them the only ones who can solve the problems. I love how they are forced to rely on each other, and how although their powers separate them from their family and friends, the Tomorrow People still consider themselves part of the world at large. I also love how they continually have to grapple with the question of whether they are superior to or better than the people they're descended from, and how often the answer is “only in some ways.”

For this version, I'm really interested in seeing the characters live and function in the 21st century where new breakouts are happening all the time; the Tomorrow People are not inherently good people, and therefore aren't inherently the good guys; and CCTV, iPhones, satellites, and social media surround and affect us all whether we want it to or not.

In addition to genfic, I'm fine with all canonical pairings and any non-canonical pairing that avoids incest and doesn't include anyone older than John or younger than Luca. (If you want to slash Irene/Astrid/Cara, I want to see what you come up with.)

Tricks: Canon gave us some serious h/c and whump, but I can never say no to more. Bring in the aliens, mad scientists, evil pop culture, or time travel (including timeloops or Sliding Doors scenarios) that existed in the other versions of the TP and put these characters through their paces. Alternatively, let's see the TP characters actually using their powers to play tricks, like how John “helped” Stephen at the basketball game. Luca was learning stage magic, so him getting to use it against his brother or an evil TP could be fun. One of Sophie's ballet shows is plagued with accidents. Astrid becomes a TP for a day.

Treats: Family or friendship bonding. Characters taking a quiet moment in between big things to process or reenergize. I'm always interested in Stephen & Luca getting some brother time together or Stephen & Astrid hanging out and joking around with his powers. I'd love to see more of Cara & Sophie rebuilding their relationship, perhaps with emphasis on each trying to learn to appreciate the other's trials and successes. Irene gets to geek out over science. John comes home. Or, again, bring in the aliens, mad scientists, evil pop culture, or time travel and show the lighter side.

Wolfblood

Rhydian, Maddy, Shannon, Tom, Jana, Oliver, Meinir, Rebecca Whitewood

This show is like someone took my Yuletide letter and made it manifest. I love that this show is so firmly grounded in the real world, with most of our characters' problems arising from ordinary situations. I love that the characters look out for each other and are willing to go to incredible lengths for each other, but don't always find that to be the easy decision or most rewarded route. I also love how a lot of what's typical for TV characters gets subverted in this show: the popular girl who likes science and is still able to stay the popular girl, the foster kid who lives in a healthy foster home, the teacher who's actually interested in his students' well-being, school kids who actually go to school and who get in trouble when they don't. I also love that the plot arch of every season is all about the Wolfbloods being discovered because that kind of Identity Porn will never fail to please me.

In addition to the nominated characters, all other canonical characters are welcome to help populate your story.

Tricks: I'm always for characters playing non-malicious pranks on each other. Creative uses of the wolf form or any of the wolf powers. Wolfblood legends. Mysteries of the moors. Problem on the new moon. Tom or Shannon have to pretend to be a Wolfblood.

Treats: Jana helping Meinir adjust to being human. Any grouping from the main ensemble hanging out. The humans hanging out with the Wolfbloods while they're in wolf form (Maddy joked about braiding Rhydian's fur. What if?). Rhydian and Maddy getting to push their relationship forward. Jana looking out for Oliver after Rhydian leaves. Rebecca and Shannon make great discoveries at Segolia. Worldbuilding. I'd love to know more about Wolfblood and/or wildblood cultures.

Ships: Rhydian/Maddy, Shannon/Tom
