Dear Trick or Treat writer,

Hi! Thank you for signing up for some tricks or treats. I'm so excited about the possibilities of this exchange and I want to encourage you to push the boundaries, in the spirit of the holiday. Below is all the info from my sign up. If you want more info or more specific prompts, feel free to browse my other exchange letters. You can also hit up my ask box, which has anon turned on, or talk to htbtomas, who both knows my tastes and knows how to keep a secret.

LIKES: Plot, h/c, whump, secrets revealed/discovered, lying by telling the truth, angst, drama, family drama, real world situations (parental-dating, high school is hard, starting college/moving out) complicated by the supernatural, humor, casefic, trapped!, running out of time, unexpected allies, trope inversions, ratings of R or lower for sexual material, strong friendships, friends with benefits, canon divergent AUs, canon based stories, crossovers.

DO NOT WANTS: hard kinks, non-con, character bashing or assassination, permanent main character death, Sterek, non-canon AUs, extreme jealousy, torture!porn.

The Tomorrow People (2013)

Stephen, Luca, Astrid, Cara

The Tomorrow People is one of those shows that I love for the concepts and the characters than for the details of the plot. Send the characters off on adventures in between episodes or post-canon or in some AU version of the canon and it's all good.

Tricks: Canon gave us some serious h/c and whump, but I can never say no to more. Bring in the aliens, mad scientists, or time travel that existed in the other versions of the TP and put these characters through their paces. Alternatively, let's see the TP characters actually using their powers to play tricks like how John “helped” Stephen at the basketball game.

Treats: Family or friendship bonding. Characters taking a quiet moment in between big things to process or reenergize. I'm always interested in Stephen & Luca getting some brother time together or Stephen & Astrid hanging out and joking around with his powers. I'm not usually into the porn, but if you want to show some telepath sex, which canonically is supposed to be extra amazing, have at it. I'm into Stephen/Astrid (friend with benefits) or Stephen/Cara.

Highlander: the Series

Methos, Richie, Cory, Ceirdwyn, Angie

Tricks: You know that canon AU in the final HL episodes where Methos was Richie's teacher? Yeah, let's go there. Let's see Richie learning to be the 5th Horseman or Methos and Cory teaming up to teach Richie the fine art of breaking and entering, with or without the crime going as planned. Bring on Methos the Teacher and show how differently Richie might have turned out because of it if Methos hadn't killed him so quickly. Other ideas: waking up in the morgue stories, capers that involve concealing one's Immortality from someone who doesn't or shouldn't know, or mistaken-identity-that-isn't.

Treats: The older characters certainly have some stories from their pasts; the younger characters may have some insights into the modern world that the old Immortals are having trouble grasping. I'm especially interested in stories that examine the characters developing mutual understanding or respect or achieving some new awareness of themselves or empathy for another.

Big Wolf on Campus

Tommy, Merton, Lori, Stacy

Tricks: This show had Santa Claus, but it couldn't be arsed with leprechauns or gremlins? Canon mpreg and aliens, but no sudden time travel or deaging? (rewinding time doesn't count). Pull out the stops here. Let's deal with all the beasties and sci-fi tropes. Pick your favorite and drop the characters in it.

Treats: Post canon, college fic. I'd love to see Tommy and Merton settling into their new life as roomies and getting used to each other that way. Bring Stacy back. Have Lori visit for the weekend. Tommy has a whole new world to learn at State U, so it's good that he has real friends to help him navigate it. Merton, likewise, has a whole new path to figure out, and perhaps a new Gothic Fantasy Guild to start.

Note: While I don't ship Tommy/Merton, I'm not averse to it either. I'd prefer gen with these two, but canon had them awfully touchy-feely and I wouldn't want to lose that. If that tips over into friends with benefits, I promise not to raise a stink. :)

Teen Wolf

Stiles, Scott, Lydia, Allison, Melissa, Deaton, Kira, Bobby, Liam, Mason

Tricks: Lacrosse team pranks, either in celebration of Halloween or not. Maybe the lacrosse team hosts a Halloween haunted house that gets a little out of control. Ghost!Allison. Magic McGuffin causes the various supernatural characters to temporarily switch abilities with the human characters (e.g. Bobby becomes a werewolf and Scott becomes really good at economics) or actual bodyswap.

Treats: Friendship stories, especially between Scott & Stiles, Allison & Lydia, or Liam & Mason. Let's see the characters hanging out, enjoying their time together: video games, truth or dare, late night confessions, surprise snow day, etc. I adored “Heart Monitor,” so stories where Stiles or Mason help their werewolf friend learn more about their powers would be awesome. I'm also interested in the adult characters being adults and seeing the world they live in through their eyes.

Ships: Scott/Stiles, Scott/Kira, Scott/Lydia, Scott/Allison, Melissa/Bobby

Phineas and Ferb

Phineas, Ferb, Candace, Isabella

Tricks: One of Phineas and Ferb's inventions causes the gang to turn into vampires, werewolves, ghosts, etc. Candace succeeds in busting her brothers on Halloween.

Treats: Any of the characters going out of their way to be nice to any of the others. I also love the stories where Phineas and Ferb invent some huge, elaborate contraption to accomplish simple tasks, or, conversely, where they take an ordinarily simply activity like playing a boardgame or making an ice-cream cone to epic proportions.

Roswell

Liz, Michael, Max, Maria, Isabel, Kyle, Alex

Tricks: The alien powers having surprise consequences. Something happens that causes the development of new powers or a change in the rules for how powers work. The characters devising ways to use the aliens' powers as part of a joke, prank, or deliberate sabotage.

Treats: Glimpses into the characters' friendship or family lives. I like when the powers or the alien-ness of the characters is relevant to the story, but I also like when those moments are treated with levity, compassion, or light-heartedness. Isabel and Max are able to use their abilities to save a family dinner/event; Michael and Kyle find a common bond; Maria, Liz, and Alex hang out like in the old days.
