In your own space, rec at least three fanworks that you think would make a good intro into XYZ fandom. Rec a fandom overview, a introductory picspam, stories that define and shape the fandom. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

Before I could do this challenge, I had to first go and ask someone to make some of this info. The fandom seems to be pretty self-contained, which is a shame since the show is so cool.

Let's start with a classic pimp post by thefrozenheart:



The pimp post doesn't talk much about the music. Teen Wolf is an MTV show and we all know what MTV used to stand for. Since the channel don't really air music videos anymore, they've moved to advertising the music in their shows. A compilation of the first season's selections is here:

Aside from the handful of songs I put on my iPod, the music in the show doesn't do much for me one way or the other. Music in shows is generally not something I notice.

I was looking for more resources to point to besides your pimp post and couldn't come up with anything. Then I remembered that someone had made that soundtrack, so it occurred to me that the music was important to at least that person. And the resource really is a great one that clearly took a lot of work to put together. It deserves some recognition.

I totally agree, music isn't that much important for me either, but that kind of resource is very helpful when you want to find that nice song you heard on a scene and liked, you know?

Definitely. And some people are really, really into music and knowing what song or what musical artist did what is useful and important information for them.

English nitpick (I hope this is OK. Please tell me if it's not).

"Maybe I'll" is technically correct, but is not something anyone would say. Contracting the "will" in this case implies that there's going to be more after the word, like "Maybe I'll give it some thought." If there isn't going to be more, we wouldn't use the contraction, so it would be "Maybe I will."

Either way is correct, though "I understood" is a little more ... forceful, I think. I want to say that it's not as polite, but I couldn't tell you why.

May I ask, what exactly is a pimp post?

Furthermore, these graphics are amazing.

Thirdly (yeah, I make no sense), the music was actually the FIRST thing I noticed about this show, right from the get go with the pilot ep. I was amazed at the bands that were chosen and then upon rewatching on Netflix, dismayed to hear several changes to the soundtrack. :(
