Overall Thoughts:

I am so glad 2014 is over. This was an absolutely hellacious year and that negatively affected my writing is just about every possible way. From forced unemployment to heath scares to computer crashes, I can't believe I still managed to write 15 stories.

My best stories of the year

The story with the highest number of hits and highest kudos count is “Learning Curves”; however, I feel my best stories are “Twice Across the Same River” and “ninety-nine decision street,” both of which were a great deal of fun to write.

My favorite story of the year:

I think “Twice Across the Same River” is my favorite. I just do so adore crossover.

Story of mine most unappreciated by the universe:

I'm a little disappointed with the reception of “ninety-nine decision street.” The person it was written for liked it, which is excellent!, but I honesty expected it to get a little more yuletide attention than it did.

Most fun story to write:

“Just Another Full Moon” was a lot of fun because of trying to reconcile all the pieces of the two fandoms involved while still creating a plausible scenario.

Story with the sexiest moments:

That has to be “Learning Curves,” mostly because it's the only story written with the intention of having any sexy moments.

Most “Holy crap, that's wrong, even for you” story:

“Burning Up Inside”? I don't branch into body horror very often, so the subject matter isn't wrong so much as way outside my wheelhouse.

Story that shifted my perceptions of the characters:

I might have finished “ninety-nine decision street” ready to start shipping Stephen and Irene.

Hardest story to write:

“If You Knew What I Know” was by far the hardest because of the computer crash, deadline issues, Real Life issues, and the challenge of working with tropes I haven't used before.

Biggest disappointment:

For the reasons above, “If You Knew What I Know.” I really need to spend some time with this story and give it a good overhaul.

Biggest surprise:

“ninety-nine decision street.” I seriously was not planning on writing a 27k story for Yuletide, or for any other reason. While the bones of this story were ones I'd been playing with for some time, I still had no notion that the story would end up being as long as it was or would include so many of the elements it did. To add to the surprise, I wrote the first draft as part of NaNoWriMo, so when I went back to edit it, I expected to have a great deal of re-writing to do. Ultimately, most of the NaNo draft needed only some cleaning up. A couple sections did require extensive re-writes, but not anywhere near what I'd anticipated.

Most unintentionally telling story:

I never know what to answer for this one, so if anyone has any suggestions, please speak up.

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?

I wrote a lot less than I thought I did, though there was that huge last minute recovery that skewed all the numbers.

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2014?

No real surprises here, this year.

Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?

The biggest risk was diving into doing a remix for the first time, as I've never touched the genre before and it was in a fandom I've never written in before. I think I like this remix thing. I'd like to dabble in it more this year.

Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?

Write moar! Try to write things that get feedback.

I'd like to thank the academy...
