Dear Chocolatier-

Thank you so much for signing up! I'm very much looking forward to seeing what you do.

Letters for this exchange seem to be running really long, so I'll try to put things in order of depth. If you already have an idea for a story, or get one while you're reading through, please don't feel obligated to study every word. If you're like me and you want ~all the information~, then buckle up.

Also, a lot of the prompts below are pulled from previous letters. If you happen to see a more exciting prompt in a different letter/general rambling/casual-chat-on-Discord that sparks your interest, I'd love to see what you do with that, even if it's already been filled or I haven't requested it 8000 times.

    The Defenders
I'm late coming to the Daredevil and The Defenders TV shows. The former was too violent for my tastes, and the latter was a lot of fun (crossover!), but didn't mean much the first time I saw it. Then, someone suggested the beauty of the Daredevil episode “Nelson vs. Murdock” to me, and I became an instant convert. That episode is now my gold standard for identity reveals. Matt is such a hurt cookie, and the sheer amount of time he spends in his show being too injured to move (or otherwise tied up) and being forced to confront/admit to things he’s been trying to avoid really pushes all my whump-love buttons. I love his terrible decision making and his need for connection to his friends while he also desperately wants to distance them to keep them safe. His heart's in the right place, even if his head needs some serious therapy. I also love that he has superpowers, of a sort, yet he's still blind, and his abilities give him different tools to work with without erasing his disability. Not surprisingly, I also love Foggy and Karen and their relationships with Matt and each other. They're all a package deal to me.

Spoilers for the various shows that feed into The Defenders are fine!

    Pairing Requests:
Foggy Nelson & Matt Murdock & Karen Page
    Foggy Nelson & Matt Murdock

Fandom Specific DNW: Use of comic book exclusive canon. I haven't read them and won't get it.

    Optional Prompts:

  • Matt and/or Foggy get blackmailed. Now what? (This does not have to be a DD-related blackmail, though it certainly can be.)
  • "You're blind!" / "So they tell me. That won't be a problem, will it?" - Foggy and Matt negotiate being roommates and becoming friends, and we learn about Matt's and/or Foggy's bad experiences with former roommates.
  • Foggy or Karen (or both) gets the opportunity to go back in time and stop Matt from becoming/continuing to be Daredevil. Do they take it? Why or why not?
  • You know that trope where the civilian identity gets kidnapped to try to flush out the superhero? Yeah, let's get Matt dealing with that one. Or maybe the inverse, where somehow DD is captured because the villains think that'll get Matt to follow directions.

    Henry Danger
It's no secret that superheroes are one of my favorite types of character, and especially when the story is about the double life the superhero has to lead. I absolutely love the conflicts that our character has to deal with because of needing to keep his story straight; needing to lie to people he doesn't want to lie to; needing to pretend to be weak or incapable in situations where, in costume, he'd totally be crushing the problem; and needing to constantly re-calibrate his understanding of normal vs. what everyone else thinks is normal. As indicated in my likes, I'm also a huge h/c and whump fan, but especially when it's the kind of superhero whump where being thrown into a wall only causes some bruises and temporary limping and being caught in a explosion doesn't do much worse than ruining your clothes. Henry Danger fed all of my likes here, though it sometimes went a little too far with things used as jokes that I personally find horrifying, like the mind-wiper or the time our heroes framed Bichelle Bilsky for a crime and never fixed or retracted it.

    Pairing Requests:
    Kid Danger/Kyle
    Henry Hart/Original Female Character
    Henry Hart & Piper Hart

I love all the characters on this show, though I'm especially fond of Henry and Piper's later relationship, after she knows he's Kid Danger, and the friendship among Henry, Jasper, and Charlotte. Feel free to include anyone. For villains, Drex is probably my favorite because of the conflict with him being the failed sidekick. I'm also a fan of Jeff, Gwen, and--obviously--Kyle.

As you might be able to guess from my requests, the fifth season episode "Rumblr" is my favorite. Besides the amazing superhero/lover parallels, I thought the episode was overall incredibly sweet.

Should you think it's relevant, I've seen every episode of both Henry Danger and Danger Force.

    Optional Prompts

  • Kid Danger starts to date someone who only knows him as Kid Danger. Now guess who Henry Hart's new lab partner is? Just guess. How does he handle this?
  • Henry gets the chance to re-try all the powers he's ever had, one at a time, and decide which one, if any, he wants to keep. What does he choose, and why?
  • While out and about and in a position where he can’t get a refill, Henry runs out of gumballs.
  • Henry continues to train Piper to be his new sidekick, and makes a point to show her all the less glamorous parts of superhero life.

So, I kinda fell hard into this show when it dropped on Netflix and had a lot of thoughts. If you want more prompts, there are 35 of them here: Danger Prompts. (I won't blame you at all if you don't want to go into this rabbit hole.)

    Additional Canon Notes:
  • Henry Danger has a lot of crack-y elements, and Crack is both a somewhat ambiguous term and in my DNWs. If the show went there, so can you--though I would prefer if things like the alternate universe where everyone is Henry are kept as throwaway jokes rather than being the setting of the story. I love most of what the show does, and I absolutely eat up all the lampshading ("The rules of time travel change every time we do it, dude!"), but I prefer when the weird-for-the-sake-of-being-weird jokes are not the focus.
  • While I think the parallels played between Henry and Ray as sidekick-and-superhero and love-interests is hysterical (the scene when Henry first found out about Drex is one of my favorites), I am not into Henry/Ray.

    Highlander: the Series
I've been in or near the Highlander fandom for most of the last two decades. My favorite character—and therefore most of my requests—center on Richie Ryan, who I adamantly insist was not killed off. Twice. Mostly, I'm interested in the stories of the side characters, and the interactions of characters who got little or no canonical screen time together. I just want to know more about them than we ever got to officially learn. Feel free to mix and match requests, too.

I love the immortals and explorations of the consequences of immortality on this show, but I also love the Game and the bigger worldbuilding aspects it provides. The Game is so brutal and what it requires of its players so awful, yet I enjoy the purpose and conflicts it provides. How the characters understand the rules, whether they choose to follow them, whether they even choose to play or not, and how they stay sane amidst it (or why they don't) are all draws to me. I especially love that the characters don't know why all this is happening; Quickenings are real, but the Game is an article of faith. On the lighter side, I'm also into all the fun that can be had with the characters' ability to die temporarily.

    Pairing Requests:

    Ceirdwyn/Methos
    Cory Raines & Matthew McCormick
    Cory Raines & Richie Ryan
    Charlie deSalvo & Richie Ryan
    Methos/Amy Thomas
    Methos & Richie Ryan

Fandom Specific DNWs: Reference to, or use of, the Ahriman storyline as canon. Use of movies 2-5 as canon.

Fandom Specific Comment: While Richie is the only character for which I actively ignore final death, I'm happy to join you in ignoring anyone else's final death too.

    Optional Prompts:

  • Five times Cory was sentenced to be transported, and one time the ship made it to its new location with him on it. (Or three times. Whatever.)
  • Matthew and Cory as the Sheriff of Nottingham and Robin Hood, in whatever way you want to interpret that.
  • Richie and Methos deliberately re-enact the Fake!Methos scam, only this time Richie is playing the role of Methos and Methos is playing the role of the wide-eyed innocent who's been seduced into the Cult of Methos.
  • When it comes time to leave Seacouver for real, Richie wants to say goodbye to his mortal friends one last time. He gets surprise help from another Immortal.
  • Ceirdwyn and Methos are old friends who happen to cross paths every now and then, spend a night or weekend together, and then go their merry ways. Usually this isn't noteworthy. Sometimes it has the worst possible timing, such as when Ceirdwyn shows up suffering from a bad Quickening while Methos is embedded with the Watchers.
  • Charlie also didn't die (but please don't make him Immortal) and he and Richie have to team up for something. (Maybe this is how Charlie finds out about Duncan and Immortals.)
  • As Charlie continues to try to train Richie, Richie's explanations for why he's not getting hurt/staying hurt become increasingly implausible.
  • Amy knows better than to get involved with her assignment. Now, if only she could figure out who her assignment really is.
  • Methos fills Amy in on some of the things the Academy didn't quite have right about Immortals.
  • Quickenings cause tropes, such as accidental telepathy, time travel, body swap (that is, the Quickening itself works in a magical handwavy way that results in the trope happening)

    Julie and the Phantoms
To my surprise, I fell completely head-over-heels with this fandom after being kinda meh on the first episode. Sunset Curve is my primary draw, both because the boys being ghosts (powers! secrets!) and because they're functionally time-travelers who have been thrust into a world/situation they have no handbook to deal with (much to Alex's lament). The fact that they're 90s teens also speaks to me as a former 90s teen myself. Likewise, I love Julie because both because she succumbed to her grief, and then was able to find the strength to rise past it.

    Pairing Requests:

Alex Mercer & Luke Patterson & Reggie Peters
Carlos Molina & Ray Molina & Reggie Peters
Alex Mercer & Luke Patterson & Ray Molina & Reggie Peters
Alex Mercer & Julie Molina & Luke Patterson & Reggie Peters

    Fandom Specific DNWs:
  • the boys being corporeal to Julie all the time
  • the boys becoming actually alive again
  • the boys crossing over or ceasing to exist (threats of this are fine; follow-through is not.)

    Optional Prompts:

  • Someone (classmate, reporter, music exec.) figures out that Julie is the only member of the band with a “life” outside of performances and starts to investigate why; Julie (or Ray) has to figure out how to throw them off the scent.
  • Julie (or Ray) needs the boys' ghostly help with something that isn't music
  • The boys have to face something/someone from their past that isn't Trevor or their parents
  • A lot has happened in 25 years. The boys get blindsided by something (other than gay rights, because that's been thoroughly covered in fanfic already) that Julie now takes for granted about the world. (This could be completely frivolous, like the fact that MTV doesn't play music videos anymore, or really serious, like the fact that school shootings are routine, or anywhere in between.)

    Leverage
The characters don't technically have superpowers, but they do seem to be super-humanly good at everything. I loved the cons and heists with the Robin Hood motivation, the incredibly gray morality of everyone, and the scale of what they were able to pull off. The interactions where a character says or does something that's perfectly normal for him/her and everyone else WTF's at them always make me laugh, especially when it's in reference to a past crime or indiscretion. Alec, Eliot, and Parker are my favorites, but the whole team is also my favorite, and this may be one of the only shows I've ever seen where I can't name a bad episode.

    Pairing Requests:

    Alec Hardison/Eliot Spencer/Parker
    Breanna Casey & Team Leverage
Alec Hardison & Breanna Casey & Eliot Spencer & Parker & Sophie Devereaux
    Alec Hardison & Breanna Casey
Alec Hardison & Eliot Spencer & Parker

    Optional Prompts:
  • The characters have to play an escape room the way regular people would and they are spectacularly bad at it.
  • The Simon Says Job
  • Hardison & Breanna discuss the kind of household Nana runs that, so far, as resulted in a statistically significant number of master criminals.

(Confession: I usually think of Leverage in terms of crossovers, so devising stand-alone prompts turned out to be really hard. Please don't take my lack of imagination as a sign that I'm less interested in this fandom over others.)

    MCU - Spider-Man
I'm a Spidey fan from way back. Whether it was Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends, the 1970s show starring Nicholas Hammond, or the Maguire/Garfield/Holland movies, I've seen it. (My comics reading is a different matter; it's best not to dwell on that.) Peter Parker might be the reason for most of my favorite tropes; if he's not, he's certainly the embodiment of them. As is probably obvious from the character requests, I have seen NWH. Of the Holland movies, FFH is my favorite because so much friendship and also so many people stepping up and helping Peter when he didn't think there was anyone left. As for NWH, while I understand and respect (and agree with) the ending of the movie, I hate it from a "how could this do that to me!" perspective. Feel free to ignore it, undo it, or handwave it. Or not. Either way is fine, depending on what works best for the story you want to tell.

    Pairing Requests:
Matt Murdock & Peter Parker (Holland)
Peter Parker & Peter Parker & Peter Parker
    May Parker & Peter Parker

    Optional Prompts:
  • Because they're also Peter, Peter 2 and 3 didn't forget about Peter 1. They figure out a way to track him down and help him.
  • Really, two more hours of the three Peters talking is all I want. Their final scene on the Statue takes way longer and they have time for more confessions and/or to analyze their various spider-biologies.
  • Peter gets a chance to spend one more day with May
  • Daredevil has obviously never met Spider-Man. So why does he feel like he has?

    Crossover Fandoms

    Pairing Requests:

    Eliot Spencer & Shawn Spencer
    Matt Murdock & Cory Raines
    Matt Murdock & Richie Ryan

Fandom Specific Comment: I totally buy the Word-of-God that Eliot and Shawn are cousins. You don't need to, but if you do, I'd love to see it explored.

    Optional Prompts:

  • Eliot (reluctantly) recruits Shawn to be part of a con.
  • Shawn invites Eliot to his wedding as a courtesy. He didn't expect Eliot to actually show up. The reason why Eliot showed up is also unexpected.
  • Matt becomes Richie or Cory's (or both's) lawyer for a case where their Immortality makes things really complicated. (e.g. Cory is arrested for a string of bank robberies that goes back to before he was "born"; Richie's alibi in a case is that he was dead somewhere; the guy Richie or Cory took his latest identity from died with a lot of warrants out on him.)
