Will this be my comeback year?
New card, new chances. As always, if you have suggestions for how I might use these prompts, I'm interested in hearing them.

Date: 2018-06-27 03:01 am (UTC)I haven't seen the second season of Travelers yet either. I should watch that at some point. I'll think about how these prompts could apply to the first season--there ought to be plenty of potential there.

Funny thing, I fell into the rewatch after getting a sudden, very out-of-the-blue urge to see that Josh and Aiden dinner scene in the 1st season, and Katie is the one who insisted on doing a full marathon. It's so rare that she likes anything I watch, and BHUS turned out to make the shortlist.

Date: 2018-06-27 03:06 am (UTC)Blackmail...I kind of want to see someone blackmail one of the vampires on BHUS. Someone who knew enough to take precautions, maybe. Unless they didn't know what they were really dealing with? Though in that case, they might not live long.
Re: First thoughts
Date: 2018-06-27 03:11 am (UTC)What about someone blackmailing Josh or Nora post-series? They both have things from their past they'd rather keep there.
Re: First thoughts
Date: 2018-06-27 03:27 am (UTC)Nora and Josh definitely both have secrets, so blackmail is certainly possible. (Also, what happened to all of the werewolf wives? Surely they'd want to know about their husbands?)
Re: First thoughts
Date: 2018-06-27 03:38 am (UTC)Yeah. Apparently the producers created the character specifically for him with plans for a spinoff. The spinoff never materialized, though I don't know why. I presume he landed the Will & Grace role and scored a much bigger paycheck.
if the travelers made a mistake and took over an immortal who had faked their death
Ha! That's precisely the prompt I came up with.
(Also, what happened to all of the werewolf wives?
You mean from the other werewolves who were captured for the cage battles? (Ohhh, cages.)
When you said one of the vampires getting blackmailed, what did you have in mind for that? I feel like the vampires would have systems in place to keep any blackmail from becoming an issue, though once the plague hit and the vampires were scattered, anything would go.
Re: First thoughts
Date: 2018-07-02 09:45 pm (UTC)I'm a little sad that there was no spinoff for Eric McCormack, but I could hardly blame him for taking Will & Grace instead, if that's what happened.
You mean from the other werewolves who were captured for the cage battles?
I was thinking the wives of the werewolves who came to claim Josh in 4.11 and died for it. I think that was all men, except Astrid, so I assume their wives and children stayed behind? Unless I'm forgetting something. I don't have a particular prompt, but it seems like some of the survivors might seek revenge somehow. They could get creative.
Although, hey, the cages could be promising too!
When you said one of the vampires getting blackmailed, what did you have in mind for that?
I'm thinking it would have to be a situation where the usual protections vampires use wouldn't work. Modern technology might help there, since someone could target a vampire from a distance, without revealing their identity. (The vampires could have an unexpected tech genius on side, of course--or make an unexpected tech genius--which would be one way to resolve the story.)
Targeting Henry or Aidan, both of whom are relatively cut off from the community, might be effective, too. Henry could use mind control, if he knew the identity of the blackmailer, but Aidan couldn't. And the blackmail could be about getting them to do things rather than just about money. Someone who wants a killer on demand, maybe?
Or a slightly more out there option: Have a witch do the blackmailing, again probably demanding actions rather than money. That would probably render the usual responses of kill or control more difficult. (If it were set in the past, it could also serve as an explanation for how Aidan knows so much about magic.)
On a totally different note, Kat was one of my favourite characters, so if I were writing BHUS for those prompts, I'd probably go AU from season 4 and have Kat come back and ask Aidan for help with something supernatural (or stick with canon and ask Nora and Josh for help) for the "asking for help" prompt, have her develop a phobia after learning the truth, or maybe have her "attacked by a creature." Dealing with the aftermath, basically.
