I also agree with you. While I might really enjoy Derek/Stiles, I'd definitely like to see more love for the other pairings and not have the fandom be so "my way is the only way". As sad as it is, a lot of the people (especially on Tumblr, I've noticed at any rate) are like that. The second you have a different opinion (even if you're not attacking theirs) they get up in arms. Then they tell their friends and it turns into a doggy pile (pun intended).
This is part of the reason why my big bang (which will be posted on the 20th!) is a Gen fic--I feel there needs to be more of this, more of other pairings and more open-mindedness.
I do hope that you start a sort of crusade with this because it's needed. I'll support you!
