And it seems like you don't have any objections or corrections to what I said, so that's awesome too. Though, if you did, I'd love to hear them.

For the record, I still have issues with the way 7th Dimension was unceremoniously unplugged, but I know the archivist had been begging for money to support hosting the archive for several years with little success, so I can't fault her for deciding no one cared.

It is really weird. HL was a megafandom back in the day, and now it has fewer than 5500 works on Ao3. By way of comparison, Teen Wolf, has over 123,000. I remember Amand-r even thinking (10 years ago now) that HL qualified for Yuletide because it had so little traffic.
... so I can't fault her...
Nor can I, though I do wish there'd been some warning. Alas, I don't think I was in a position to donate money then, even if I'd known of the need for it.
So much has been lost, from the lists, to 7D, to LJ, and to all the thousands of fans who've wandered off or died and took their stories with them. It's almost a miracle that we still have 5500 works.

I think Killa pulled HLFiction.net; it hasn't worked in a while, so there's another archive in limbo right now.

I guess we won't know until we know.
Other fanfic sites
Also, the original mailing list archive is still working: http://www.highlander.org, though it doesn't contain any of the slash or adult-rated fic.
Re: Other fanfic sites
I did not how that the mailing list archive is still working. That's great news! I'll have to go poke it and see if any old favorites fall out.
