Yeah. Apparently the producers created the character specifically for him with plans for a spinoff. The spinoff never materialized, though I don't know why. I presume he landed the Will & Grace role and scored a much bigger paycheck.

When you said one of the vampires getting blackmailed, what did you have in mind for that? I feel like the vampires would have systems in place to keep any blackmail from becoming an issue, though once the plague hit and the vampires were scattered, anything would go.
