Fest: Crossovering
Dear Crossovering writer:
Thank you so much for signing up for this exchange and for agreeing to write me a story. Crossovers are one of my favorite types of fanfic, so I can't wait to see what you come up with.
I have some information below on what I like and don't like in stories. Use what you want, but know that I know that optional details are optional. I've also thrown together some prompts. Again, if they inspire you, they're yours; if not, then I'd love to see what you come up with. With a few exceptions, I've given no or little thought to how these crossovers might work, so your interpretation is my new headcanon. In those cases where I have given the crossover some thought, I'm always eager to see something else's interpretation of how the crossover will work. Alternatively, if you like what I've done in an existing crossover and want to build on it, I'm cool with that, too.

Plot. Stories without a conflict and resolution are great (and I’ve written more than a few!), but if you ask me the one thing that will truly make me bounce with joy: it’s plot. My tastes in plot are about as wide open as they can be. I love h/c, drama, angst, friendship, family, schmoop, casefic, humor, and practically everything else, too.
Character exploration and strong characterization. Who the characters are and how these specific characters are going to act and react in a scenario are what drives a story for me.
Secrets. The common thread of my fandoms is that at least one of the characters has superpowers (or a superstate) that s/he/they have to keep secret from the world at large. I love secrets. I love seeing them kept and the cost that keeping secrets invariably has. I also love when a decision is made (or circumstances conspire) to bring the secret to light. And I love to watch the fallout.
Relationships of all stripes. If you want to include pairings, het, slash, or poly are all fine. If you prefer gen, then I'm good with that too. I like all kinds of relationships, with strong friendships and parent-child as two of my favorites.
Favored tropes include: Trapped!, Running Out of Time, Unexpected Allies, Secret Identity Revealed/Discovered, and Friends With Benefits
Dislikes
PWPs. Sexual activity (e.g. kissing, petting), UST, sexual tension, and romance are always fine, but I would prefer them to be part of the story and not the whole story (anything up through an R-rating is good).
Character assassination and/or bashing.
Torture!porn. Despite my love of h/c, I don’t like torture-for-the-sake-of-torture (e.g. the Saw movies).
AUs of the coffee shop/bakery/mechanic/all!human style.
Extreme jealousy. For example: stories where someone mis-overhears something, gets wildly upset, and refuses to address the issue; I’d like to think my favorite characters are more mature than that.
Sterek.
Permanent main character maiming or death.
I realize that most of the following prompts would require a story significantly longer than 1000 words. In the event that you like one of these prompts and want to use it, stories that focus on only one part of the larger scenario are more than welcome.
For Supergirl crossovers, please treat her Earth as a different one than the one Arrow and The Flash exist on. I don't care how the characters transition from one world to the next (the magic power of handwaving!); I just can't yet mentally reconcile what we know of Kara's world with what we've seen of Oliver and Barry's.
Crossovers between more than two series are welcome.
The groupings in my sign-up were entirely formed based on my ability to think of prompts. I'm perfectly fine with mixing-and-matching between them if you have a story you want to tell, except I'm not keen on a Teen Wolf/Wolfblood cross.
In all canons, I'm on board with the canon pairings. I'm also fine with many non-canon pairings, though age difference with non-immortal characters is an issue for me. If characters are over the age of 16, within 5 years of each other in age, and not an incest pairing, I'm interested. For immortal characters, use the age that they appear to be as your guide. (IOW, If you have an idea for a Kara/Cara/Oliver story, bring it on.)
If you happen to be playing in one of the various bingo games out there and you'd like to double up on a prompt (or two or three) for that with this, let's see it!
Arrow/The Flash
An accident causes Barry and Oliver to switch bodies.
Seeking more information/advice about superheros, Iris interviews Laurel and Thea. They decide that she can't fully understand unless she experiences wearing a mask herself, so they set about rectifying that.
Arrow/Supergirl
Thinking that she's an ordinary human, Oliver tries to school Kara on what it means to be a hero. Kara schools him right back.
Felicity helps Kara establish a new identity. It takes a few tries.
The Flash/Supergirl
Kara and Barry go on a blind date, during which each is faced with the need to go be a hero.
The vortex throws Barry into Kara's world, where he comes under scrutiny of the DEO who refuse to believe that he's not one of the prison escapees.
Forever/Wolfblood
As a doctor in 19th century England, Henry encountered more than his share of Old Wives' Tales and superstitions. Most of them he's forgotten, until an outbreak of a rabies like disease in the modern day requires him to draw on those stories as he's lead to a group of people living in Central Park who may have the ability to turn into wolves. (Perhaps Rhydian and the Smiths ended up here rather than in Canada).
While in NYC, interning at Segolia, Jana stumbles across a misplaced antique pocket watch. She uses ansion to try to find its owner, and ends up learning more than anyone thought there was to know. Now she has to figure out how to return the watch before anyone else at Segolia finds out where it belongs or what its owner's secret is.
Forever/Young Wizards
Lucas is a wizard assigned to keep an eye on Henry, because immortality in humans makes the Lone Power nervous. When word comes down that the LP is planning a particularly bad attack on Henry, Lucas is forced to call in help from other NY area wizards. But what's Henry supposed to make of the two high-schoolers who've been assigned to “job shadow” him? (Consider Adam as either an agent of the LP or the LP himself.)
Nita and Kit cast a spell that goes horribly wrong when they use Henry's birthdate as it's printed on his driver's license, rather than what it really is.
Leverage/Psych
For a con, Eliot conscripts his cousin Shawn to help him teach Parker how to fake being a psychic.
While attending a huge comic book and/or media convention, Gus and Hardison have to work together to identify and stop someone who is trying to kill their favorite artist/creator.
Leverage/Teen Wolf
While attempting to use the Beacon Hills Hospital during one of their cons, the Leverage team's mission is compromised by the unexpected arrival of a gang of teenagers who have their own score to settle with same target.
Bobby Finstock and Eliot Spencer were in high school together and rivals in every way imaginable. (At least, that's how Finstock remembers it.) On learning that Eliot is going to be at the upcoming 20th reunion, Finstock decides to use the occasion to settle an old score.
Leverage/Tomorrow People
A victim of ULTRA's power-removal serum (Kurt?) tries to recruit some help to take them down. But, how do you convince someone that your beef with a corporation is that they took away your superpowers?
One of a Tomorrow Person's (Irene? OC?) parents hires Leverage to take down what they believe is a cult, lead by the charismatic John Young.
Psych/Teen Wolf
Shawn decides that the Beacon Hills police department obviously needs his help with its caseload. He's not prepared for the reaction he gets when he blames a werewolf (or some other monster) for the first homicide he's at. The problem is, he was joking. He was right, but he was joking. Now he's the one who needs convincing.
Sheriff Stilinski is ordered to take some classes on advanced police investigation methods, and Carlton Lassiter is his instructor.
Psych/Tomorrow People
Shawn knows that magic powers aren't real. So what's he supposed to do when he comes up against a street magician (Monty the Magnificent?) whose tricks actually do defy any other explanation?
While in Santa Barbara tracking a new breakout, Cara becomes a prime suspect in a murder. Her only defense is that she can't kill. Shawn has to work his magic to build a case where there doesn't seem to be one, and find the real culprit before Cara takes the fall for a crime she didn't commit.
Teen Wolf/Tomorrow People
Melissa and Marla meet at a nursing convention, get taken hostage and bond over the difficulties of being single moms to super-powered sons.
In an attempt to start over after the events of the series, the Jamisons move to Beacon Hills. Luca enrolls at BHHS, is recruited for the lacrosse team, and ends up having to work with Liam to save the team from the latest threat.
Wolfblood/Young Wizards
Oliver (Rhydian's foster brother) and Cadwyr take the Oath and end up on Ordeal together. While extra-solar, Cadwyr approaches his first transformation; however, the new wizards can't return to Earth until the Ordeal is over, but without the light of the moon, Cadwyr can't complete his transformation. And a Wolfblood who doesn't complete his first transformation won't live to see a second.
After leaving England, Maddy finds herself in NYC, enrolled in Nita and Kit's high school. She'd probably never do more than walk past the two wizards in the halls, except that every time Nita is nearby, Maddy loses control of her wolf. It turns out that Nita's rowan wand with its stored moonlight is the problem.
I've tried to keep things open-ended with my extra info. If you have any questions, my tumblr has a really lonely ask box with anon turned on. You can also check in with htbthomas, who knows my tastes and knows how to keep a secret.
Thank you again!
