I view Jackson as one of those people who secretly wants to be told "no" and never has been, so he keeps pushing the boundaries hoping that he'll discover what they are. So ... let's give him everything he thinks he wants, and then let him realize that the farther back the boundary moves, the bigger that "no" is going to be when it finally comes.
I love the last line, too. My only concern with it is that it's too soon for Jackson to have that epiphany. But, since this is a one-shot, it had to be used now or not at all.
